Our recommended Android NFC Apps Page

In order to make use of your AndyTags™ NFC Stickers, you'll need at least one NFC App on your phone.  The list of available NFC apps on the Play store is growing, but many of them are not worth your time.  We've combed through and tested all the NFC apps available to find the one's that will help you make the most of your NFC AndyTags™  NFC Stickers.  Click the App Icon on the left of description to go directly to App's Google Play page.  Apps tagged with "Demo" at the end of the description have a video demo/review and/or are part of our NFC 101 Step-by-Step videos which you can find on our NFC Tag Videos page or on YouTube by clicking "Demo".

NFC SmartQ (Free)

NFC Smart Q is a feature rich NFC App with a great user interface.  Control volume, brightness, & other settings; launch apps; text someone; launch website; open music files.  SWITCH feature can toggle between 2 different set-ups with 1 tag! (Demo)

NFC by Moo (Free)

MOO, a pioneer business card company, recently introduced the NFC by MOO App. Use it to write business related information to an NFC tag. Simple user interface focused solely on writing business info to an NFC tag let's you create Vcards or Social Link NFC Tags. (Demo)

StartNFC Expert (Free)

StartNFC Expert is an excellent app for reading the info that's currently on a tag and testing a tag to make sure it's working as it should.  You can also use it to format or erase NFC tags. No matter what app you use for writing tags, this app will make a great addition to it.  (Demo)

Tasker for Android (Paid)

Tasker is the most advanced automation app for Android allowing you to control tons of settings based on time, location, phone action etc. - WAY more functions than any stand alone NFC app. Pair Tasker with AndyTags NFC Tags and one of the below NFC apps and take full control of your phone.

Llama (Free)

Llama is an automation app that has NFC Tags built into it's triggering so you can use an AndyTags NFC Tag to trigger any action Llama can do including triggering Tasker Tasks via Shortcuts! It's completely free and features a nice set of actions that can be triggered by NFC Tags as well as location, time, and other events. (Demo)

AVX - Android Voice Xtreme (Trial/Paid)

AVX is the most advanced voice control available for Android phones & now supports triggering tasks w/NFC Tags.  Use your voice OR an AndyTags NFC Sticker to make something happen or launch a Tasker Task.  (Demo)

BT Tag Writer (Free)

BT Tag Writer allows you to write code to an AndyTags NFC Tag that will then allow you to turn on BlueTooth and connect to a specific Bluetooth Media Device simply by tapping the tag.  (Demo)

AutomateIt (Free/Paid)

AutomateIt is a "Tasker for dummies" app that allows you to control every aspect of your phone using many different triggers including AndyTags NFC Tags!  AutomateIt is laid out in a very simple user interface, making it easy to learn.  There's not much you can't do with NFC Tags and this app! 

NFCSecure Lockscreen (Paid)

NFCSecure Lockscreen is an innovative new app that allows you to enable a Lockscreen that can be unlocked by simply tapping a programmed NFC Tag.  You can program multiple tags and can also bypass the screen with a code if you lose the NFC Tag or don't have it nearby. Also has a Tasker plugin.

NFC ReTag Pro (Free/Paid)

NFC ReTAG PRO allows you to write NFC tags like AndyTags NFC Stickers to trigger events/settings (including Tasker Tasks) or do it based on a tag's UID# without writing anything to the tag.  It's one of the more feature rich NFC apps on the market.

NFC TagControl (Free)

NFC TagControl offers a nice set of options to program your AndyTags NFC Stickers including Vcards, URL's, & Texts as well as direct text, direct call, & mobile settings. But unique to NFC TagControl is it's Text to Speech and Map Settings options which are pretty cool. (Demo)

MyLog - GPS Tracker w/NFC (Free/Paid)

This is not only an excellent app for tracking & logging your mileage (business &/or private) on multiple cars, but it also has an NFC feature.  Simply tap an AndyTags NFC Tag in your car to start tracking.  Tap again when exiting to stop and create a log. (Demo)

Puzzle Alarm Clock w/NFC (Free/Paid)

Not just your everyday alarm clock, Puzzle Alarm Clock w/NFC has some very cool and unique features including the ability to program an NFC Tag which you must tap your phone to in order to stop the alarm!  No more oversleeping when you pair this app with AndyTags NFC Tags. (Demo)

NFC TagSee (Free)

TagSee has an awesome & fun user interface and allows creation of vCards, SMS, URL, and simple profiles on NFC Tags which can be used to change several settings on your phone at once.  Also due to the slick U.I. probably the best app to read basic Text tags. 

NFC Task Launcher (Free)

NFC Task Launcher is one of the most popular NFC apps on Google Play.  It is packed with features & has native integration with Tasker.  Also supports toggle tags & can write code to a tag (if you use more than one NFC app) or just use a Tag's UID code to launch tasks.

Pack It Up (Free)

Pack It Up is a great NFC app for storing information about what's in a box.  Perhaps more of a novelty, but this free app allows you to associate an NFC Tag with a list of contents you store in the app.  Very simple and user friendly with various potential applications. (Demo)

Tapmynote (Free)

Tapmynote is a simple but useful NFC app that works with NFC tags and the Evernote app to allow you to launch specific notes in Evernote by tapping a tag.

Samsung TecTile (Free)

Their are 2 versions of this app - one for use with phones that can use Mifare Classic Tags and another for phones that can't. The former is an decent NFC app & works with AndyTags Mifare Classic Stickers just the same as TecTiles! Other apps listed here however are far better! (Demo)
